9th Place Finish in Wild West Shootout Finale at Arizona Speedway

For the third round of the Wild West Shootout on Wednesday night at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona), Garrett Alberson followed up the fastest lap in his time trial group with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Jimmy Mars. Starting the $5,000-to-win A-Main in seventh, Alberson suffered a broken motor on lap 11 that forced him to retire early.

Returning on Friday evening, Alberson secured his spot into the A-Main with a 3rd place finish in his heat race. With $5,000 on the line, Garrett dropped seven spots in the 30-lap affair to record a 17th place outing.

The following night, Garrett came in second fastest in his time trial group behind Ricky Weiss before placing 3rd in his heat. Starting the $5,000-to-win A-Main in ninth, Alberson was running in 12th with eight-laps remaining when he suffered a broken driveshaft.

Wrapping up the 14th annual Wild West Shootout on Sunday afternoon, Alberson posted a 7th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main for one final shot at the $15,000-to-win finale. Grabbing the 4th and final transfer spot, Garrett locked into the 23rd-starting position for the main event.
