Alberson makes both USA Nationals features at Cedar Lake

Garrett Alberson and Roberts Motorsports trekked to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) on Thursday afternoon as their team was one of 13 FANS Fund invitees for the 34th annual USA Nationals weekend. Drawing 49 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Alberson edged his way into the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature with third-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. Starting in 15th, Garrett dropped two spots in the 30-lap affair to finish 17th.

Later Friday evening for a pair of heat races and the FANS Fund Dash, Alberson followed up a fifth-place finish in his first round with a second-place finish. With the top 16 in passing points getting locked into the main event on Saturday, Garrett was in ninth overall.

He also raced in the $2,500-to-win Kyle Koch Memorial FANS Fund dash on Friday where he finished second, following Mark Whitener across the line.

On Saturday night rolling off ninth for the $50,000-to-win USA Nationals, Garrett faded seven spots in the 100-lapper to record a 16th-place outing.
