Charging Alberson faces bad luck at Lucas Oil Speedway

After the first two events of his three-race stretch were rained out, Garrett Alberson headed to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Saturday for the 15th annual CMH Diamond Nationals. With 34 cars on hand for the event co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and the Lucas Oil MLRA, Garrett posted a fifth-place finish in his heat before picking up a consolation victory. Earning the 18th-starting position for the $15,000-to-win A-Main, Alberson advanced forward early and was closing in on a top-five run when he got collected behind a spun-out car.
