Eighth-place finish in Tribute to Don & Billie Gibson at Wheatland
With Thursday’s Cowboy Classic falling to Mother Nature, Garrett Alberson was one of 63 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries amassed at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Friday for the second round of the 30th annual Show-Me 100 weekend. (Heath Lawson photos)
Following a fifth-place finish in his heat, Garrett secured his spot into the $6,000-to-win Tribute to Don & Billie Gibson preliminary feature with a second-place finish in his B-Main. Wheeling his way into the Top-10, Alberson advanced through the field 16 spots in the 40-lapper to finish eighth.
With his finish on Friday placing him on the fourth row for the $50,000-to-win Show-Me 100 finale, Alberson faded three spots in the 100-lap affair to finish 11th.
Garrett is currently ninth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
