13th-place finish in Gopher 50 finale at Deer Creek

With a third-place finish in his heat race placing him on the sixth row for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Garrett lost three spots in the 50-lapper to finish 14th.
On Thursday, the series drew 41 competitors to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.) for two rounds of preliminary features to kick off the NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50. Qualifying for the prelim through his B-Main, Alberson raced forward five spots in the 25-lapper, crossing the line in 16th.
For another $5,000-to-win prelim on Friday, Garrett followed up a fifth-place outing in his heat with a consolation victory. Dropping one spot in the feature, Alberson logged a 19th-place finish.
Earning the 18th-starting position for the $50,000-to-win Gopher 50 after picking up a B-Main victory over Chad Simpson, Alberson gained five spot in the 75-lap affair to place 13th.
He remains in seventh in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
