Runner-up finish in Chasing the Dream preliminary feature at Eldora

With the 66-car field divided into three groups, Alberson locked into the seventh-starting position for his $5,000-to-win prelim via his qualifying effort. Moving forward five spots in the 20-lap affair, Garrett raced to a second-place finish, which came behind Ryan Gustin with Stormy Scott rounding out the podium.
On Thursday evening with the World 100 weekend officially commencing with a pair of $12,000-to-win prelims, Alberson edged his way into his feature with a fourth-place finish in his heat. Inching forward one position in the 25-lapper, Garrett crossed the line in 13th.
For another round of prelims on Friday, Alberson followed up a 10th-place outing in his heat with an eighth-place showing in his consolation race, ending his night early.
With preliminary points placing Garrett on the fifth row of his heat race on Saturday, Garrett was collected in a tangle on the fourth circuit of his heat that brought an early end to his weekend.
