12th-place finish in DTWC at PRP; crowned LOLMDS Rookie of the Year

In a stout field of 37 cars, Alberson edged his way into the $22,022-to-win A-Main with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Clawing forward three spots in the 50-lap affair, Garrett recorded a 13th-place finish.
On Friday, Alberson was one of 68 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors amassed at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the 42nd annual General Tire Dirt Track World Championship presented by Optima Batteries. With a third-place finish in his heat race on Friday pinning him on the ninth row for Saturday’s $100,000-to-win LOLMDS season finale, Garrett gained six positions in the 100-lapper to finish 12th.
While finishing seventh in the LOLMDS points chase, Garrett was crowned the O’Reilly Auto Parts Rookie of the Year.
