Top-10 finish in Slocum 50 at 34 Raceway
Garrett Alberson was one of 45 Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) entries amassed at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) on Thursday afternoon to compete on the ¼-mile oval.
Following the sixth-fastest qualifying lap in his group, Garrett jumped up one spot in his heat to finish second. Rolling off eighth for the feature, Alberson was collected behind a spinning car in the opening laps that eventually led an early exit.
In a field of 41 MLRA competitors at 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa) on Friday after officials moved Saturday’s $10,555-to-win Slocum 50 to Friday due to threatening rain, Alberson outran Tyler Bruening in his heat race to pick up the eight-lap victory. Starting the feature in eighth, Garrett lost four spots in the 50-lapper to finish eighth.
