Alberson third in MLRA's Battle at the Beach finale
With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) tripleheader swing out east cancelled by Mother Nature, Garrett Alberson unloaded his Roberts Motorsports No. 58 Late Model entry at Lake Ozark Speedway (Eldon, Mo.) on Friday afternoon for the two-day Battle at the Beach.
Drawing 36 Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) entries, Garrett started the night off with a heat race victory but was later sidelined in the 30-lap feature with a nose damage, ending his top-five run.
The following night, Alberson timed in sixth-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat. Starting the $7,500-to-win A-Main in eighth, Garrett advanced forward five spots in the 40-lap affair to register a third-place finish. He chased brothers Chad and Chris Simpson across the line.
