Charging Alberson scores fourth-place finish in Ralph Latham Memorial at Florence

After a stretch of rainouts forced the series sit idle for the months of March and April, Garrett Alberson returned with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Thursday at Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio) aboard the Robert Motorsports No. 58 Late Model for the Buckeye Spring 50.

Despite missing a transfer spot in his heat, Alberson raced his way into the opening night feature with a third-place finish in his B-Main. Losing two spots in the 50-lap affair, Garrett logged a 23rd-place outing.

For the John Bradshaw Memorial on Friday at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.), Garrett followed up a fifth-place finish in his heat with a runner-up run in his consolation race. With $12,000 on the line in the feature, Alberson passed six cars to finish 12th.

The weekend drew to a close on Saturday at Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) with Alberson sneaking into the show via his consolation race after missing a transfer spot by one spot in his heat. Starting the $15,000-to-win Ralph Latham Memorial in 19th, Garrett marched through the field 15 positions in the 50-lapper to register a fourth-place finish. He trailed Ricky Thornton Jr., Hudson O’Neal, and Brandon Overton to the checkers with Tim McCreadie coming in fifth.

Garrett is currently 11th in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
