Garrett Alberson visits WVMS for Historic 100 weekend
For the seventh round of the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries, Roberts Motorsports and Garrett Alberson invaded Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) on Wednesday with another $23,023 winner’s payday on the line.
Starting the feature in 13th via a fifth-place run in his heat race, Alberson inched forward one spot in the 50-lap affair to finish 12th.
With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on Friday and Saturday, Garrett trekked to West Virginia Motor Speedway (Mineral Wells, W.Va.) for the two-day Historic 100. Following the 17th-fastest qualifying effort, Alberson edged his way into the A-Main with a sixth-place finish in his heat. Losing two spots in the 30-lap opener, Garrett logged a 19th-place outing.
On Saturday, Alberson’s seventh-place finish in his heat race pinned him on the 10th row for the $50,000-to-win Historic 100 finale. A persistent rain shower before the feature was able to get underway postponed the event to a date to be determined.
