Garrett Alberson follows LOLMDS to Smoky Mountain Speedway
Garrett Alberson entered his Nutrien Ag Solutions No. 58 Late Model into battle with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Friday at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) for the two-day Mountain Moonshine Classic.
With officials eliminating heat races due to rough track conditions, Garrett’s 12th-fastest lap in his 22-car group pinned him on the sixth row for his preliminary feature. With $5,000 on the line, Alberson dropped one spot to finish 13th.
On Saturday, Alberson resorted to a provisional into the $50,000-to-win A-Main after battling mechanical issues in prelims. Rolling off 23rd, Garrett gained five positions in the 60-lap affair, salvaging an 18th-place finish.
Garrett is currently 13th in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
