Alberson steers to an 11th-place finish in Silver Dollar Nationals at Huset's
Garrett Alberson returned with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Thursday afternoon as the Go 50 prelim kicked off the 13th running of the Silver Dollar Nationals weekend at Huset’s Speedway (Brandon, S.D.).
In a field of 40 cars, Alberson qualified sixth-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat. With $12,000 on the line in the feature, Garrett raced to a seventh-place finish in the 50-lapper.
With Friday’s heat races shifted to Saturday afternoon by Mother Nature, Garrett followed up a sixth-place finish in the first round with a third-place run in his second heat.
Relegated into a B-Main later Saturday night for another shot at the finale, Alberson secured his spot into the $53,000-to-win Silver Dollar Nationals with a consolation victory. Working his way forward six positions in the 80-lap affair, Garrett steered to an 11th-place finish.
Garrett remains 12th in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
