Pair of Top-10s in Nippy 50 weekend at Maquoketa Speedway
Friday afternoon saw Garrett Alberson make the short trip to Maquoketa (Iowa.) Speedway for the first night of the Nippy 50 weekend.
With 26 Late Models on the grounds, Alberson qualified eighth-fastest in his group and finished third in his heat race before making up four positions in the $10,000-to-win main event to finish fourth. He trailed Bobby Pierce, Ryan Gustin, and Brian Shirley while Brandon Sheppard completed the Top-5.
For Saturday's $20,000-to-win finale, Garrett finished second in his heat race where he would draw the fifth-starting position in the redraw. In the 50-lap feature, Alberson slid outside the Top-5 and wound up eighth when the checkered flag flew.
