Alberson storms to podium finish in Lucas Oil Spring Nationals finale at Lucas Oil Speedway
Getting a notebook for the upcoming LOLMDS races at the facility, Garrett Alberson headed to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Friday afternoon for the Lucas Oil Spring Nationals.
With a stout 44-car MLRA field on hand, Alberson stopped the clock second-fastest in his group before dominating his heat race. For the $7,000-to-win opener, Garrett started fourth and finished fourth to record a Top-5 finish.
Missing the setup in Saturday's qualifying session, Alberson barely made the A-Main after nabbing the final spot in his heat race. Starting 13th in the $20,000-to-win main event, Garrett charged through the field and made up 10 positions to stand on the podium in third. He trailed Jonathan Davenport and Ricky Thornton Jr. while Mike Marlar and Mason Ziegler completed the Top-5.
