Podium finish in Farmer City 74 with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
Fresh off a pair of victories at the same tracks, Garrett Alberson unloaded the Roberts Motorsports No. 58 machine at Famer City (Ill.) Raceway for the first leg of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series doubleheader in Illinois.
With a whopping 55 Late Models checked in , Alberson stopped the clock third-quickest in his stacked group and took the checkered flag in the final heat race. Starting sixth in the extended 74-lap main event, Garrett slipped back to ninth early but rallied late to finish on the podium in third. He trailed Ricky Thornton Jr. and Jonathan Davenport in the $25,000-to-win feature.
Not finding the same speed at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway on Saturday afternoon, Alberon grabbed the final transfer spot in his heat to start the $30,000 A-Main. Running inside the Top-15, Alberson pulled off on lap 13 but rejoined the field and rallied to finish 17th.
Alberson is currently seventh in the LOLMDS point standings.
