Alberson closes Illinois Speedweek with pair of Top-10 finishes at Farmer City and Fairbury
Tackling a five-day stretch of racing, Garrett Alberson began Illinois Speedweek at LaSalle (Ill.) Speedway on Tuesday afternoon for the first of three $20,000-to-win FloRacing Night in America shows.
Among a huge field of 49 Late Models, Alberson made the show and placed 14th in the 50-lap feature. Garrett DNF'd at Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Ill.) on Wednesday before rebounding with an 11th-place run at Lincoln (Il.) Speedway.
As the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series rolled in for the weekend events, Garrett charged forward 13 positions in the Farmer City 74 to finish 10th at Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway on Friday. Alberson saved his strongest showing for Saturday night at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway as he came away with an eighth-place outing the $30,000-to-win main event.
