Third-place showing in Cowboy Classic during Show-Me 100 weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway
Garrett Alberson unloaded his Sunoco Race Fuels No. 58 machine at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Thursday afternoon as the Roberts Motorsports team kicked off the 33rd-annual Show-Me 100 weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
Starting with the Cowboy Classic, Alberson set quicktime among 49 entries at the racetrack and picked up a heat race win which put him on the pole of the $10,000 opener. Garrett led the first 32 circuits before Hudson O'Neal was able to sneak around him. Alberson settled for a podium in third.
Alberson picked up right where he left off on Friday evening, but was derailed after slamming the outside wall in the A-Main. Garrett was scored 24th.
Locked into the 100-lap, $75,000-yo-win finale on Saturday, Alberson drove to 14th-place outing in the 100 lapper.
Alberson currently rides fifth in the series point standings.
