Alberson earns two Top-5 finishes in Corn State Nationals at Davenport Speedway
Kicking off a three-day weekend, Garrett Alberson joined a field of 41 Super Late Models at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Thursday for the first-ever Scott Bloomquist Memorial with the FloRacing Night in America Series.
Finishing third in his heat race, Alberson started 10th in the 50-lap, $20,018-to-win feature and wound up 17th. The team then made the overnight haul to Davenport (Iowa) Speedway for the MARS Late Model Championship Series doubleheader.
Among a 32-car field for the Corn State Nationals, Garrett ended up on the podium during night one, finishing behind Jason Feger and Ryan Unzicker while Shannon Babb and Frank Heckenast Jr. completed the Top-5. On Saturday, Alberson led laps in the $10,000-to-win finale, but wound up with a fifth-place finish to close out the weekend.
