Alberson earns Fall Classic prelim win at Whynot Motorsports Park
Navigating to Mississippi for the House of Hook, Garrett Alberson was among 48 Super Late Models at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Miss.) on Friday evening for the first night of the 31st-annual Coors Light Fall Classic.
Alberson picked up a heat race win and started third in the second 30-lap preliminary feature. Battling with the lead duo for the first half of the feature, Garrett took the top spot for good on lap 15 and led the final 15 circuits to the $3,000 payday over Josh Putnam and Ethan Dotson.
In the $20,000 finale on Saturday, Garrett started on the pole for the 60-lap feature event before he ran into mechanical issues on the car which relegated him to a 17th-place finish.
